Te-Kenjutsu-Kan Karate-Do
Santa Ana, CA
TKKSense
The intent of our mission statement is to define the ideals of the founder of our organization, Sensei Bayani Adlawan. The aim of the organization is to teach the ideals of Karate-Do, which include self-discipline, rigorous training and the understanding that the object of Karate competition is not victory but the act of participation. Our goal is to provide a quality Karate training and experience at a reasonable cost that is available to people of all economic classes. To provide a framework so that Te-Kenjutsu-Kan instructors can donate their time and do not have to participate for profit.
The organization will conduct a variety of fundraisers the proceeds of which will be made available to provide the students with a range of experiences that their economical status would normally not permit. The activities include participation in Karate tournaments both locally and at various out of town locations. Also included are yearly trips to the AAU tournament as well as bi-yearly weeklong trips to tournaments in Honolulu, Hawaii. Funds are also provided for a yearly scholarship for a deserving high school senior that is qualified and planning on attending college.
Uniform standards will be established for promotion of Kyu and Dan ranks within the organization. All participants will be assured that they will be treated equally and not subjected to unfair practices not based upon their performance.
All organization funds and property will be treated in a framework that will insure the security of the fund and property and that all distributions will occur in a fair and impartial manner.
Quarterly meetings, attended by those students who hold a Dan rank in the organization, will be held to conduct the business of the organizations. The meetings will be under the direction of elected officers and written minutes will be prepared.

Principles of Karate
"Henceforth, I shall faithfully train to strengthen my mind and body. I am willing to endure rigorous training to achieve my goal. As my strength increases, I shall seek to cultivate a gentle heart. I shall not use my skills outside the dojo except in the most extreme circumstances. At all times I will try to avoid inflicting injury upon another person. I will not boast about my skill nor use it maliciously"
"I SHALL TRAIN WITH THE SPIRIT OF HUMILITY"
